I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
